Quran Verses for Protection from the Evil Eye

Duas from the Quran for seeking refuge in Allah from envy, harmful forces, and evil, without presenting a separate evil-eye formula.

Whenever Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) became sick, he would recite Mu'awwidhat (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) and then blow his breath over his body. When he became seriously ill, I used to recite these two Suras and rub his hands over his body, hoping for their blessings. (Sahih Al-Bukhari 5016)

قل اعوذ برب الفلق ١ من شر ما خلق ٢ ومن شر غاسق اذا وقب ٣ ومن شر النفاثات في العقد ٤ ومن شر حاسد اذا حسد ٥
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥
قُلۡ

ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ

l-nafāthāti

فِي

ٱلۡعُقَدِ

l-ʿuqadi

٤

وَمِن

wamin

شَرِّ

حَاسِدٍ

ḥāsidin

إِذَا

idhā

حَسَدَ

ḥasada

٥

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak (1) from the evil of whatever He has created, (2) and from the evil of the night when it grows dark, (3) and from the evil of those ˹witches casting spells by˺ blowing onto knots, (4) and from the evil of an envier when they envy.” (5)
قل اعوذ برب الناس ١ ملك الناس ٢ الاه الناس ٣ من شر الوسواس الخناس ٤ الذي يوسوس في صدور الناس ٥ من الجنة والناس ٦
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٢ إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ٤ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ٦
قُلۡ

ٱلنَّاسِ

maliki

ٱلنَّاسِ

إِلَٰهِ

ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ

ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ

l-khanāsi

٤

ٱلَّذِي

alladhī

يُوَسۡوِسُ

yuwaswisu

فِي

fī

صُدُورِ

ṣudūri

ٱلنَّاسِ

l-nāsi

٥

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡجِنَّةِ

l-jinati

وَٱلنَّاسِ

wal-nāsi

٦

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind, (1) the Master of humankind, (2) the God of humankind, (3) from the evil of the lurking whisperer— (4) who whispers into the hearts of humankind— (5) from among jinn and humankind.” (6)
